I decided to paint the body of the shocks orange to stand out against the white and blue. I also gave the springs a fresh coat of silver to freshen them up. Once satisfied with all the filling and sanding i wiped down all the parts for painting with Spies Hecker 7010 Silicone Remover. This is a type of panel wipe degreaser which i find works very well.
