Adventureman Mountaineering - Climb Higher: November 2011
http://adventuremanmountaineering.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 21, 2011. Paget Peak - Frozen Winter Wonderland. Field, British Columbia. November 21, 2010. As we finally crested the ridge after the trudge up the steep slope and a short unnecessary scramble over the rocks, the snow depth decreased to about ankle depth, a telling tail of the high winds that scour the ridge. Our summit visit as extremely short as our thermometer read -47C! Passing out Hot Chocolate in the lookout. Some other pictures of the trip. Paget Peak Summit Cairn.

Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Rapids, Rain and Tonnes of Snow - Ghost Dam To Cochrane. This weekend marked the final opportunity for me to put in a decent distance run before the South Dakota Kayak Challenge. With Tyler spending his birthday camping in Kananaskis, I decided to get together a small group of friends and planned to paddle the Bow River from Ghost Dam to Calgary, this would be an approximate distance of 55km. As we arrived at Ghost Dam,. Shortly after putting in we came to the most technical sect...

Sunday, August 7, 2011. Commonwealth Peak Jan 7 2011. August 7, 2011. Commonwealth Peak as viewed from marsh below. As it turns out, the marsh and braided stream crossings were not that much of an issue, I would however recommend that for people wishing to do this scramble that they bring an extra pair of shoes, or better yet, sandals for the crossing. 65279;. Sunday, January 24, 2010. Midnight Peak - A Temperature Inversion. January 24, 2010. This was my second time ascending Midnight Peak. My last summit was in the midst of a severe winter storm and had absolutely no summit view. 65279; This trip was a typical winter ascent. I was leading a group of about 8 people from the University of Calgary Outdoor Adventurers. Just below the summit of Midnight Peak. We descended the same way following our tracks.
