Sunday, 12th October 2014,. Sint Maarten, Dutch Caribbean. Slides last 5 sec each. s/v Triptych, underwater, is at the end. The boats shown here are all in the SW corner of the lagoon. Triptych was in the ‘protected’ NE section at the Island Water World Dock. Acting Coast Guard Director Wendell Thode said 22 of the 37 boats destroyed by the storm were in the lagoon. Most of the boats that are destroyed are completely under water, he said. The surprise hurricane lasted just several hours.
