The Kendo Hypochondriac: July 2012
http://kendoblab.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, 16 July 2012. Sandan done and dusted. Now to take some time off to try and fix my wrists. Wednesday, 11 July 2012. Nice surprise at Mumeishi last night! I wandered into weekly practice at the usual time only to find Sumi sensei taking the class, it was a bit of a double take moment I have to admit. He was in the UK as a 'stop over' before travelling to a seminar in the Ukraine. With both people generating the feeling of pressure, motodachi then pushes and opens for men cut, shidachi reacts by cut...

Dai kyo soku kei: June 2005
http://iaidoka.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Dai kyo soku kei. If the marvels of swordsmanship elude you, return to beginner's mind. Friday, June 10, 2005. It's all about the monouchi. The first day of practice with Amersfoort-sensei is over, and I should try to write down some points. I am still so confused, though, that I am not sure if I will be able to get anything useful out of my head. On top of that, my body is hurting. I am already longing for tomorrow. ;). General points: flow, timing, no hesitation! Be out of center; there is not a lot of...

Dai kyo soku kei. If the marvels of swordsmanship elude you, return to beginner's mind. Sunday, July 10, 2005. My motivation for kendo seems to be returning. Yay! A few pointers for myself from today's practice. Flatter angle in men and kote; don't come too close for do in kote-do; don't straighten up until the very end in kata #1 as uchidachi. I really am too tired to do this right now, but I need to start writing things down from kendo as well. Posted by Caroline at 22:21. Thursday, July 07, 2005.

Dai kyo soku kei. If the marvels of swordsmanship elude you, return to beginner's mind. Monday, October 31, 2005. Yup, it's true, I am still here, just being a lazy blogger as always. ;). Anyway, last weekend I was at the Stockholm Kendo Open (in Stockholm, of course) and had a lot of fun. I don't really have the time to thoroughly write down all that happened, but I'm pretty sure that someone else will. Posted by Caroline at 15:00. Linköping, Sweden. View my complete profile. Dai kyo soku kei: March 2006

Dai kyo soku kei. If the marvels of swordsmanship elude you, return to beginner's mind. Wednesday, March 08, 2006. I really like kendo no kata, but I'm not really any good because I've done them too little. Yesterday we did 1,2,4 and 5. Number 4 was the one that posed me the most trouble, I tend to want to take a step forward when doing the cut (as shidachi), but at the very end I managed not to do that and everything got a lot better. I also had a lot of trouble with number 5 (I think it is?

Dai kyo soku kei: May 2005
http://iaidoka.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Dai kyo soku kei. If the marvels of swordsmanship elude you, return to beginner's mind. Monday, May 30, 2005. Swedish Championships in iaido was this Saturday. My goal this year was to win one match, but I ended up winning three. Obviously, I'm really happy with this. I was even close to getting a medal as I lost in the quarter finals. Wellnot much to write down as the things one learn at competitions is mostly related to handling stress and thinking in the right way. Posted by Caroline at 18:16. Not muc...

Dai kyo soku kei. If the marvels of swordsmanship elude you, return to beginner's mind. Friday, February 17, 2006. I think I sort of overdid it last week, when I went to every practice after being away from training a lot before that. I started this week with a sore body and a slight cold.and have hence stayed away from kendo so far this week, and only done iai. I hope I'll feel better soon and maybe get an hour of kendo on Sunday or so. :/. Posted by Caroline at 12:39. Sunday, February 12, 2006. Focus w...

The Kendo Hypochondriac: February 2013
http://kendoblab.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 20 February 2013. Its been a while but i'm finally updating two weeks after returning to training. I'm only attending one practice a week at the moment so I can rediscover lost muscles and easy my wrist back into action. Its been an fascinating experience to say the least. First of all it was great to see familiar friendly faces again, it was great to fight then have a few pints down the boozer afterwards. As for the wrist, it was pretty sore after both sessions. I iced when i got ...160;I'...

Dai kyo soku kei: August 2005
http://iaidoka.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Dai kyo soku kei. If the marvels of swordsmanship elude you, return to beginner's mind. Sunday, August 14, 2005. This weekend there was the coolest iaido and kendo camp ever in Swedish history. Or so I think, anyway. There were.14 (? I was the only person grading in iaido, and I was slightly uncomfortable when I realized that I was going to grade all by myself in front of all these people. However, the grading went fine, with not too many mistakes, and people I had hardly seen before congratulated me...
