HOW TO GET HERE. Okains Bay is a one and a half hour drive from Christchurch Airport. From State Highway 75 turn off on the Summit Road at Hilltop past Little River. You will follow the sign: Eastern Bays, Tourist Drive. Stay on the Summit Road till the turnoff to Okains Bay. According to the Lonely Planet the Summit Road is: "the absurdly beautiful drive around the edge of the original crater". The views are spectacular. We are on 32 Chorlton Road, the first road to the left past the museum and the shop.

We are a 20 minutes scenic drive from Akaroa with its café's and restaurants and one and a half hour from Christchurch Airport. A good place to get over your jetlag, to prepare for your flight home or to just relax. The Okains Bay Maori and Colonial Museum. BEST IN CLASS 2 YEARS IN A ROW: BBH RATING: 98.

HOW TO GET HERE. We have two double rooms, one with an ensuite and three beds in a shared room. The shared room can also be used as a twin room or as a single room. Queen beds in the double rooms. Free 200 MB WIFI voucher per person per day. Fresh free range eggs for sale. We advise you to visit a supermarket in Christchurch or Akaroa to buy fresh ingredients. Coming from Christchurch there is a New World supermarket. The Okains Bay Store is open on Friday nights from 5-7 pm for fish and chips.
