FF Ernestine comes in four weights, each featuring a Roman and an Italic version so eight styles altogether. The four matching Armenian styles are included inside the fonts (the Armenian component is identical between a matching pair of Roman and Italic, since there is no Italic for Armenian). Use adjacent weights like for instance the Demibold inside a body of Regular. For stronger contrast. Skip one weight, and combine the Bold with the Regular, or the Demibold with the Light.

A little house by the sea. So TypeMedia is past, and I’m officially staying in the Netherlands. So, yes, I like it here. As of this month, I have moved out of the city center and am (in blatant fulfilment of one of my life goals it feels early) living in a little house by myself which is about 200 meters away from the sea. Not sure if anyone else finds thunderstorms as fascinating as I do, but here you go. In the night before the start of ATypI Barcelona, one of the most dramatic thunderstorms I’ve seen. This was pretty fantastic to watch, at least until after much such faraway, beautiful, almost-silent lightning suddenly thunder crashed down directly above and I was very, very awake for the next hour or so. 24 9 2014 at 7:18 pm. FF Ernestine is a wedge/slab serif text typeface published by FontShop International. In late 2011. Ernestine attempts to combine no-bullshit clarity and seriousness with a friendly attitude. Its wide, open shapes and generous x-height lend it stability down to very small sizes (and at low resolutions). A range of ligatures, stylistic and contextual alternates, arrows, and two sizes of smallcaps enrich its palette. Ernestine was created by Swiss designer Nina Stössinger.
