This helped us develop our skills is recognising numbers and also writing these down. Later on this week we set up a supermarket outside where the fruit and vegetable prices were hidden by QR codes. Friday, 12 June 2015. Phonics with Fred the Frog! Over the last few weeks we have been doing our phonics with the toy puppet Fred the frog. Fred can only speak in sounds and not full words and he helps us with reading and writing. Today it was very exciting as Mrs Gray brought a frog into school that she had found in her garden. Sunday, 28 June 2015. Children found a key in the woodland area hanging from a tree. They thought the fairies could have left it there as they also discovered some fairy dust. This began a series of letters to the woodland fairies and their joking friend Will the Wizard. This provocation has sparked off lots of imaginative art work and creative writing.
