The Charente is a small coastal river 361km long, which runs through the local town of St Jean dAngély. St Jean dAngély canoe club rents canoes and kayaks and can provide instruction. Alternatively, passenger boat trips are available in Saintes and Cognac. The Charente also has an abundant fish population, home to roach, bream, pike, perch, tench and carp. Fishing tackle and bait are widely available in supermarkets as well as specialist shops. For nature lovers, there is the LArche de Noe.

There are many festivals and cultural events in the Charente Maritime, suitable for young and old alike. While weekly, bi-weekly and much larger monthly markets are a common site in Charente Maritime, there are also numerous music events across the region in summer in all the main towns. A street music festival takes place in Saintes, there is street theatre in La Rochelle and a Blues-Jazz festival. In Cognac draws musicians and visitors from all over the world.

We have been growing asparagus on our family farm near Uckfield, East Sussex since 1998. Cut fresh daily, we start at dawn to harvest our asparagus by hand when it is at its best. It is quickly brought in from the field to our cutting room and shop, where it is carefully washed, graded and prepared for sale. Why not come and see for yourself from 9am each morning! By preparing and chilling our asparagus quickly its quality and freshness is assured. We are members of the Asparagus Growers Association.

Cooker Cleaning

Please phone or us to obtain a free quotation, book an appointment or ask about our services. Our oven cleaning operative will take the doors off your oven, then remove all the shelves brackets and backplate over the fan. All these items are then placed in a Dip Tank which is located within the operatives van. Your oven will then be cleaned using an odour free material. When this work is complete the operative will proceed to clean all the shelves and brackets; once again in the van.
