http://mableymeadow.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 28 May 2012. Sunshine spring = a great gardening club session! Saturday's gardening club was a really good day out! Our expert Helen Wilson. Was on hand teaching everyone how to plant stuff that will make the meadow more beautiful - and that bees, birds and butterflies will love. And there were free snacks and drinks too! With the Queen's Jubilee coming up, the club will be taking a break this weekend. But we'll be more than making up for it on Saturday June 9 when artist Penny Sadubin.

Mabley Green Meadow: April 2012
http://mableymeadow.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 25 April 2012. Meet Helen, our new gardening club leader. Thanks to our grant from the London Legacy Development Corporation, the meadow will soon have it's very own gardening club. The club will be free for everyone, and there'll be free drinks and biscuits provided on the day too. But the best part is, it'll be led by the fantastically knowledgeable Helen Wilson. Check out her website here. Helen will lead three sessions in spring - one each week, starting on Saturday May 12. We'll be using ...

Mabley Green Meadow: June 2012
http://mableymeadow.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Friday, 15 June 2012. June flowers (and bugs). One of the main reasons for making the meadow was to create a haven for animals and insects (especially the rare ones). And after a couple of years of planting and caring for the space, we've got more wildlife than ever before! Here's some of what you might find if you keep your eyes peeled. We've not had buttercups on the meadow in a while, so it's great that they're making a comeback. Mabley Green Community Meadow. Monday, 11 June 2012. We had an extra-spe...

Mabley Green Meadow: November 2011
http://mableymeadow.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Monday, 28 November 2011. Helen the Gardener's guide to plug plants. If you're a beginner gardener, here's Mabley Meadow regular and professional gardener Helen Wilson's step-by-step guide to planting plug plants (aka tiny little seedlings you buy in trays). Take the plug out of the tray - they often have a hole in the bottom so you can just pop it out with your finger. Until it looks a bit like this. Now wait for you tiny little plants to grow big and strong. Mabley Green Community Meadow. So now the ar...

Mabley Green Meadow: May 2013
http://mableymeadow.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 20 May 2013. If you go down to the meadow today. You're in for a nice surprise. It's looking incredible! The thick grass is a haven for butterflies, birds and insects - and perfect for a picnic. Look closely and you'll see native bluebells all over the meadow - so all our had work planting bulbs is paying off! The wild herbs planted by the gardening club last summer are thriving - and the fruit trees love their new home. Look closely, and you'll find wild garlic growing in the long grass.

Mabley Green Meadow: Gardening club - week four
http://mableymeadow.blogspot.com/2012/10/gardening-club-week-four.html
Friday, 5 October 2012. Gardening club - week four. What a brilliant gardening club session! This week we planted a Cherry Plum tree (laden with delicious cherries) and a Concorde Pear (which is a fantastic variety). And both of them came from the Hackney Tree Nursery. Just up the road from the meadow. Their trees are of incredible quality, so if you ever need one for your garden, drop in to see them! Next week, we'll be planting a crab apple tree and sowing seeds, so join us on the meadow on Wednesday 10.

Mabley Green Meadow: October 2011
http://mableymeadow.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 19 October 2011. Sowing the seeds of 2012. Last Saturday, a dedicated group of volunteers got to work sowing the next batch of wildflowers that'll help brighten up the meadow in 2012. We've shaken things up a bit this year by sowing more traditional meadow seeds (perennial flowers mixed with grass), so next spring will look slightly different from the last couple of years - but still amazing. Special thanks to Sue, Alix and Stuart for a sterling seed-sowing effort! Mabley Green Community Meadow.

Mabley Green Meadow: September 2012
http://mableymeadow.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, 27 September 2012. Gardening club - week three. The gardening club is go, go, go! This week we planted not one but TWO fruit bushes - a redcurrant and a blackcurrant - with Woodruff all around them. Then it was bulb time- 150 crocuses were planted safely under the turf (look out for them in early spring), and wild garlic near the small bench. Yum! Next time we'll be sowing wildflower seeds and planting more bulbs. So come to the meadow on Wednesday 3 October from 4pm-6pm and get stuck in! So if...
