Friday, November 29, 2013. I have Christmas music blaring from my library window (well, blaring, everything is relative… the neighbours can’t hear it and sing along so really it’s very quiet! And the children are squealing as they arrive. Saturday, July 28, 2012. One Door Closes and Another Opens. Since then, the centre welcomed close to 1,000 visitors each month. Primary school children came to play and read, secondary school children studied quietly in the garden, and adults used the internet cafe or used the resources to increase their knowledge. Monday, June 30, 2014. Life in a Northern Town. Sung by Dream Academy in 1985. A lovely song about a lovely town. So peaceful and serene, just like being in Nonai, Lamwo district, Northern Uganda. Well, all the North really. There is something about this place that makes me breathe a sigh of relief and just slow down. Simon suggested a goat. Monday, July 29, 2013. July 29th Bird Report. I am sure that eventually the rate of new bird sightings will go down but after 4 days, we have spotted 12 new species from our balcony. Two huge highlights – the African Harrier Hawk and a pair of Black-and-White-Casqued Hornbills. These photos are all mine unless otherwise mentioned. As we were stuck in a jam, heading to Oasis and Garden City, I said to Apollo, Anna and Andrew, "Now I feel like I am in Uganda! Hopefully that will be tomorrow.
