Richard Bebbington, the Mayor of Ashby 2011/12 ran 12 marathons in 12 months. 12 Marathons in 12 Months. During 2011/12 Richard Bebbington was Mayor of Ashby De La Zouch. During this time he wanted to do something different to inspire people in sport, promote the town, whilst raising money for Wishes 4 Kids. Foolishly he decided to run a marathon each month, resulting in 12 in 12 months. Richard finishes the London Marathon in less than 4 hours, completing the 12 in 12 months challenge. A 37 mile challenge walk around the Ivanhoe Way public footpath. A 37 Mile Walk in aid of Wishes 4 Kids. The Ivanhoe Way 20 and the Ivanhoe 13 also follow the Ivanhoe Way footpath, heading back towards Ashby. These alternative distances start at different times and locations to the full challenge, ensuring the walkers on the 3 challenges will be heading back towards Ashby at similar times. After a very big cardboard bike box, was split into 2, we then dismantled and packaged our trusty steeds up ready for the long but easy journey home. Not sure will get out Blue Peter badge though! We have spare rolls of gaffer tape on hand and will no doubt be visiting Peter at Just Bikes in Ashby for some assistance once home depending on how the journey goes! It’s just one more step towards getting home.

A 37 mile challenge walk, rasing funds for Wishes 4 Kids. The 9th annual Ivanhoe Way Challenge has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstacnes.
