The simplest answer is that rescues come from people who don't care enough about their pets to make a lifelong commitment to them. Either the people didn't reseach the breed before they bought it, they didn't train the dog, they didn't get it spayed and neutured - the excuses are endless. The reason for the animal to be homeless is NEVER the dogs fault. How can I prevent my dog from needing to be rescued? Research the breed before bringing one into your home. Spay and neuter your pets.
