The Department of Kinesiology offers an undergraduate degree and three degrees at the graduate level. The application process and funding is unique to each program. Please see individual program pages for more information. Athletic trainers are medical professionals who work to facilitate prevention, diagnosis, and intervention related to certain conditions impacting physical exertion both on and off the sports field. These may include muscle strains, ligament sprains, emergency conditions, and more.

Post-certification athletic trainers can complete a Kinesiology graduate program in exercise science or sport management. Please see our page on Graduate Study Options for Certified Athletic Trainers. Certification examination. The program is proud of it’s 100% pass rate for the BOC exam, to see the BOC exam statistics click here. Once a student successfully passes the BOC examination, the student is eligible for athletic training licensure. Please see our Undergraduate Program Overview.

Our graduate programs often lead to positions in research, academia, government, and corporate health. Graduate students work closely with an advisor in their area of interest and actively participate in research at the Human Performance Laboratory, where sophisticated technology is used to study important questions dealing with physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, medicine, and biomechanics.
