Other States’ Efforts. We are a parent-led initiative whose goal is to secure insurance coverage for children’s hearing aids. As of 2014, 20 states have passed legislation requiring insurance companies to cover hearing aids for children but we want this for all children. We have three core goals:. To get legislation passed in all 50 states requiring insurance coverage for children’s hearing aids. Want to start or join an effort in your state? Hearing aids can cost as much as $6,000 per pair. 20 states require insurance companies to cover children’s hearing aids but many children go without because of the lack of insurance coverage.
