FAITH IN THE REAL WORLD: January 2015
http://revbickers.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
FAITH IN THE REAL WORLD. Sermons and reflections on life and faith. Wednesday, 21 January 2015. This is the text of a sermon preached by the Revd Pauline Shelton on Sunday 18th January 2015 at St Martin's Church in Walsall on re-imaginging communion. The texts that were preached on were. Isaiah 55:1—13 and John 6:1—14. There’s no such thing as a free lunch, they say. But is that right? If we look not just at one meal, but at the many meals Jesus shared in the Gospel stories? 1 Who is invited. And remembe...

FAITH IN THE REAL WORLD: November 2014
http://revbickers.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
FAITH IN THE REAL WORLD. Sermons and reflections on life and faith. Monday, 24 November 2014. Nehemiah 6: Stand Firm, Do Not Fear and Trust. This is a sketch of a sermon I preached on Nehemiah chapter 6. After praying about what to preach on, I felt very strongly that there were three things Jesus wanted me to talk about for people in the church who are going through a tough time - that is to Standing Firm, Do Not Fear. Life can be difficult and challenging. We can stand firm, because Jesus is with us.

FAITH IN THE REAL WORLD. Sermons and reflections on life and faith. Tuesday, 28 April 2015. VE Day and The General Election. May marks the 70. I believe voting in elections is not only a right, but also a responsibility. But. In the 2010 general election there were 15.9 million non-voters, people who saw no point in voting, or didn’t believe their vote would make any difference. Imagine what impact they could have had if they had voted. The General Election, being held today (Thursday 7. Aung San Suu Kyi.

FAITH IN THE REAL WORLD: 7 Marks Of A Healthy Church - Mark 6, Makes room for all
http://revbickers.blogspot.com/2015/06/7-marks-of-healthy-church-mark-6-makes.html
FAITH IN THE REAL WORLD. Sermons and reflections on life and faith. Monday, 8 June 2015. 7 Marks Of A Healthy Church - Mark 6, Makes room for all. I do not claim any originality in this sermon, it is based almost entirely on the sermons preached at Barnstaple Baptist Church, which can be found at http:/ healthy-church.blogspot.co.uk. And Robert Warren's 'Healthy Churches Handbook'. Marks of a healthy church –. Seeks to find out what God wants, rather than following its own agenda. When Simon, His host, s...
