Sunday, August 31, 2014. That I could've included, but here's what I shared:. Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. (. 8220;Renown” is defined as the condition of being known or talked about by many people; fame. It’s widely considered to be the chief aim of many in your generation. I also love the Message translation of these verses:. So simple – so clear – and so profound. “Watch” Him – how? By studying his Word. Then do what...

Monday, August 10, 2015. The Romantic Danube…overview. Just had the chance to look through the almost 1,000 pictures I took during our Viking river cruise down the Danube! I added a few more pictures into the posts I wrote along the way and thought I'd put the links, in order, in one spot! But when you travel all the way to Europe, you kind of want to see everything you can! Sidenote: According to my Fitbit, we took 91,321 steps during the week for a total of 39.4 miles! Day One…the Beautiful Danube.

Tuesday, August 4, 2015. We spent a day in the lovely city of Vienna - I'm short on time so I'll share some pictures with very little commentary…. We enjoyed omelets prepared by Evgeni most mornings! Our fun tour bus crew! Beautiful architecture.and a McDonald's! Praying for special friends. We tromped all over Vienna in search of this wonderful market…. Visiting a coffee house in Vienna is a must! It's hard to describe how wonderful this coffee is. And of course, pastry. And an opera sampling!

a simple life...: June 2013
http://lesliemartinyoung.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 15, 2013. Trust in the Lord, and do good;. Dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord,. And he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord;. Trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,. And your justice as the noonday. I chose a three-verse passage for the next two memory sessions. I'm just beginning to prepare to teach Bible study for Cross Camp. Trust in him, and he will act. We wait for you.

a simple life...: September 2013
http://lesliemartinyoung.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 2, 2013. I've fallen a bit behind on my memory work, but I've been doing some review today and decided to attempt to type all of my 2013 scriptures from memory (eek! I've noticed a theme of hope and love running through the verses I've chosen this year. Just reviewing them, rewriting them (however imperfectly), has blessed me - maybe someone else needs these words today? Okay - here goes! Above all, love each other deeply,. Because love covers over a multitude of sins. Who are his rich ...

a simple life...: January 2014
http://lesliemartinyoung.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 8, 2014. Just for fun, I decided to jump in on Jon Acuff's Empty Shelf Challenge. The idea is simple - clear out a bookshelf in your home and fill it in 2014. Participants are also encouraged to share opinions/reviews/recommendations. During the year. So, here's my (teeny-tiny) empty shelf. And here is my (teeny-tiny) empty shelf with my first finished book of the year -. Daring Greatly - How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead. Which complete...

Saturday, August 1, 2015. Well it's been a whirlwind 48 hours for the Young girls! On Friday, Dorothy and I left home around 6:30 am and headed for West Monroe where we picked up June and Peggy, then traveled on to Ruston to pick up Marlene. Five women. Eight days in Europe. And we managed to pack in carryon luggage! It was kind of a miracle! We drove on to Shreveport to catch the first of several planes that would transport us across the world! On the plane…). They are warm, charming and helpful! This i...

a simple life...: Hello, Germany!
http://lesliemartinyoung.blogspot.com/2015/08/hello-germany.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Today, we said goodbye to the Viking Njord and her crew (we loved them! And headed by bus from Linz, where we docked, to Passau, Germany. The low water situation on the Danube meant we had to do a "boat swap" with another Viking ship doing the same cruise in reverse. So we packed our bags and left them at our door after breakfast and boarded a bus. Our bags magically appeared in our identical rooms - same room number and everything - on the Viking Freya! We walked through an ar...

a simple life...: A taste of Bavaria...
http://lesliemartinyoung.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-taste-of-bavaria_7.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. A taste of Bavaria. We had a wonderful day Thursday exploring Regensburg - the oldest city on the Danube and one of Bavaria's most beautiful and one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe! The city center escaped damage in the war and its architectural gems and half-timbered buildings exude a timeless charm. (Okay, I lifted that entire first paragraph from the brochure, but it's totally accurate and succinct! And I finally got to see some stained glass! It was bird poop.
