More features dilute the value of your program

More features dilute the value of your program. More features do what? I can almost hear you saying. Give me a minute, and I will explain. You add more features to your program probably because you want to make your program better. After all, this is the usual way of improving a program. Now, improving. Are two different things. I don't know about you, but my dictionary says the word "improve" applies to something that already exists. You cannot improve. Value of a program. Think about why iPhone apps ar...

Why we don't have a feature list
http://www.aycangulez.com/why-we-dont-have-a-feature-list.html
Why we don't have a feature list. I'm not going to discuss the absurdity of inflicting pain on potential customers in the form of mostly indecipherable checklists. This should be obvious. If not, try choosing a random program, the less you know about it the better, and start reading its feature list. Then count the number of times you scratch your head. Users don't care about features. They care about benefits. Does your program help them to do their job better or faster? Does it make them feel good.

Half-baked features don't taste good
http://www.aycangulez.org/half-baked-features-dont-taste-good.html
Half-baked features don't taste good. If you read my previous article. You know that I'm not a fan of feature lists. They can only list the components of your program, and don't really tell how your program, as a whole, can make your users' lives better. Are the members of other professions more competent than us? Maybe On second thought, no, probably not since it is statistically unlikely. We are, on average, as competent as the members of any other profession. Because, it is possible. You've guessed it...
