Med School Metaphor: Pancakes Every Morning | the rumors were true
https://rumorsweretrue.wordpress.com/2006/11/01/pancakes-every-morning
The rumors were true. 8230; about Caribbean medical school. Med School Metaphor: Pancakes Every Morning. Looking at it now, I’m tempted to start the passive bragging of impossible odds. “You have no idea how hard it is,” I’d say. “Medical school is like trying to take a drink from a fire hose,” I’d brag. And that’s total bullshit. Medical school is like trying to eat five pancakes every morning for breakfast. 8220;Wow,” I’ll say. “That’s very impressive. You must be very p...Feed You can leave a response.

Medical Student Speak | Doctor Placebo
https://drplacebo.wordpress.com/medical-student-speak
Just another WordPress.com weblog. January 29, 2007. PBL – Problem Based Learning. A style of learning on a similar style to the FoFo method, except usually overcomplicated by the token graduates within the group, who insist on making far too much work for everyone and enjoy showing off. Primary care placement – time spent in a GP surgery. One Response to “Medical Student Speak”. February 2, 2007 at 10:17 am. Sadly, so very very true. Just the word ‘OSCE’ can stop our lot in their tracks. Of short white ...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. March 4, 2007. 8212; doctorplacebo @ 4:05 pm. Something odd happened this week. Something that I never considered before now. 8230;I worried that I was taking advantage of a patient. Not in a seedy way or anything illegal you understand…. I just felt that I was taking advantage of a patient’s illness to gain personal clinical experience. Am I right to feel guilty? Is this a common experience, or is this a sign of weakness? Still alive, just 3 years ago.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. January 24, 2008. 8212; doctorplacebo @ 4:21 pm. Recently I’ve been ashamed to be a medical student. Issues arising over at Dr Rant. Have made me question just how professional so called medical professionals are. Sure, we’re all entitled to our own opinions, and rightly so that we should share them. But christ almighty, keep them constructive. Reverting to poo slinging and swearing at people isn’t very mature is it? Rest assured, I am still here, just very very busy.

Blimey, the passage of time | Doctor Placebo
https://drplacebo.wordpress.com/2009/02/11/blimey-the-passage-of-time
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Blimey, the passage of time February 11, 2009. 8212; doctorplacebo @ 1:51 pm. Well what can I say. A year has passed without an update, and I’m sure any readers I had will by now be long gone. The problem based learning is still problematic and medical school is still the nightmare it always was, so why continue? Because I’m a fool who believes it will all be different when I qualify. Simplistic isn’t it! One Response to “Blimey, the passage of time”. Hmm sounds intrigu...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. February 18, 2007. 8212; doctorplacebo @ 9:09 pm. Apologies for the lack of posting of late, but I’ve been experiencing the inside of my bed for the last week through being ill. Nothing too serious – but enough to keep me from my placement on the children’s ward (didn’t want to give my ick to the little darlings). I would like to add a big thankyou to Dr Crippen. For linking to me last week on the Britmeds – it was indeed an honour! February 7, 2007. February 4, 2007.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Time flies when you’re kissing arse. September 23, 2010. Filed under: Medical Education. 8212; doctorplacebo @ 9:25 pm. Apparently 18 months have passed since I last blogged. How shameful of me. Sad thing is, since then all I’ve been doing is research projects, electives and arse kissing to get just that little bit further connected. Arse kissing for grades is pointless, but knowing people in the hospital and courtesy of elective is always useful. If you feel so inclined.
