Garden at The Oaks. Tuesday, May 4, 2010. The Peas Among the Thistles. Debbie and I went to the garden to see what was growing after the rain and nice warm sunny days we've had. Well, we found lettuce, radishes, carrots, beets, herbs, rhubarb, potatoes, onions and much more. In fact, everything we planted has come up except the romaine lettuce. I think we will have more than enough greens for everyone without the romaine. We didn't think the peas were growing but we found them among hundreds of thistles!

Garden at The Oaks. Friday, August 22, 2014. What to do with Extra Yellow Squash. I've been baking a variety of things these past few weeks. What I think I've made the most is Zucchini bread. Most of my family and friends love zucchini bread and for good reason. It delicious, easily made and most of the ingredients are already in the cupboards. I went to the garden last week and noticed there was a lot of yellow squash available. Yum yum! 2 c Grated Yellow Squash ( I use 3 1/2). 1- 1 1/2 c. Sugar.
