Friday, June 19, 2015. Mikes birthday and a visit from my sister! Happy Birthday, Mike! He turned 51 this week. To celebrate, we did a hike and a barbecue at his dad's house. Little did he know that he would be putting together the grill we gave his dad for Father's Day. The next morning we took Ellie to Snooze at Union Sation for brunch. We had an hour and 1/2 to chat while we waited for our table. No resemblance whatsoever.Ha! While we were there, we spotted our friends Betsy and Kenny from Alcyone.

Saturday, May 17, 2014. Back to La Paz- Marina Palmira. 24 deg 18'10.1"N 110 deg 20'14.2"W. Lobos-Marina Palmira, La Paz. Alas, it is time for our journey on the Sea of Cortez to end. We made our last leg of the trip this morning without even putting the sails up. It was 7 nm of motoring; we had no wind. That is ideal for docking, so I am a happy skipper. Monday, March 30, 2015. Ipala to La Cruz. We had a lovely motor-sail to Ipala from Tenacatita today. On our way, we spotted another sailboat heading there and we had fun pushing each other. When we arrived, we met Evan and Monique on Margarita. And we invited them to join us for dinner in town. A fishing boat was flagged down and our adventure began. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Fourth of July Weekend in Vail, CO. We had another terrific 4th of July weekend up in Vail, CO. It started out with rehearsals and a concert Friday night with the Dallas Symphony and CSO Chorus singing the Mozart Requiem! The concert was held in the Gerald R. Ford Ampitheater. Thursday, May 21, 2015. Back in La Paz. We arrived back in La Paz with more drama than desired. After a peaceful night in Lobos, we departed early for Marina Palmira where we planned to fuel up and dock for the summer. We had a perfect docking at the fuel dock and we're heading to dock three, but found ourselves with no power to move forward or reverse. The engine revved but it was as if we were in neutral. About Us and the Plan. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Thirty Days in La Paz. Our first two or three weeks aboard Shindig were spent tackling projects, big and small in the extreme heat of October. There was no AC for Shindig for a long while as Rob discovered many under floor pumps had failed. The recommissioning process takes time and the boat reminds you daily that she does not like to be left alone for the summer. High up the mast to replace the Tri-Color light that flew off during hurricane Odile.

Friends advised that the International Guitar Fest was a fabulous event to attend. ( It had been 14 years since we had visited Zihuatanejo, and that was via airplane). About Us and the Plan. Sunday, December 28, 2014. Boat maintenance in exotic locations. This season we have experienced more than our share of boat maintenance. I know, I know, "poor Rob and Nancy. Living it up in Mexico, and complaining about a few boat chores" I can just hear a teeny little violin (not even a cello) being played right now. When you start using a boat more, you would expect that you would have more stuff to fix. Maybe being 17 years old means that Shindig has become a surly teenager.

About Us and the Plan. Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Picture perfect view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Our summer was at a pace that even Nancy could not keep up with. This is the 2nd summer without our home to go back to. With the support of land based friends who offered up their homes, garage door entries, cars, temporary storage facilities for the growing luggage, and encouragement, (gracias, machas gracias!
