Monday, July 28, 2008. Thirty-seventh President: Richard M. Nixon - 2 comments. I've definitely crossed the threshold now - rather than me giving you readers facts about Presidents, I should be asking you! You're certainly not going to learn much from me, a kid born during the Carter administration, right? So, then: what can you tell me about Richard Nixon? Saturday, July 5, 2008. Thirty-sixth President: Lyndon B. Johnson - 1 comments. The Hall of the Presidents. Thirty Days with Friedrich.

Thursday, February 14, 2008. Thirty-first President: Herbert Hoover - 2 comments. Hoover's presidency coincided with the Great Depression, and sadly that's just about all that we remember him for. It's too bad, really, as he was a successful mining engineer, humanitarian (organizing volunteer forces to help victims and refugees of World War I), and had a spotless career of government service. Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Thirtieth President: Calvin Coolidge - 0 comments. Tuesday, February 12, 2008.

Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Forty-fourth President: Barack Hussein Obama - 1 comments. I wasn't planning on drawing Obama today, Inauguration Day - but it was just so inspiring that I did it anyway. Sunday, September 7, 2008. So, Dear Reader: the Hall of the Presidents is complete, until January. What's next? Remember, the loose requirements are:. 1 They must be portraits. 2 They must be in a series (so I know when to start and stop). 3 They must have readily available source material. Thursday, September 4, 2008. Forty-third President: George W. Bush - 1 comments. We've reached the temporary end of the Hall of the Presidents! Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Hall of the Pre...

Sunday, August 31, 2008. Thirty-ninth President: Jimmy Carter - 3 comments. Jimmy Carter created the Departments of Energy and Education. Who ran the schools before that? I have no idea, and so little interest in recent American history that I won't find out unless you - yes You, Dear Reader - inform me in your comments. Thursday, August 7, 2008. Thirty-eighth President: Gerald R. Ford - 3 comments. Gerald Ford not only wasn't elected President - he wasn't elected to any national office at all!

Saturday, December 29, 2007. Eleventh President: James K. Polk - 0 comments. Tenth President: John Tyler - 0 comments. When William Henry Harrison died in office, his Vice President John Tyler took over. This was the first time the country had made this transition, and there was quite a bit of debate on exactly how it should work. Congress argued that the VP should only be acting. President, while Harrison's cabinet argued for full Presidential powers. 1 Tyler was not officially mourned by the US.

Friday, January 18, 2008. Sixteenth President: Abraham Lincoln - 1 comments. I think we're all pretty familiar with Honest Abe - in fact I feel a bit funny trying to dig up little known facts about him. For further reading, I recommend this upcoming children's book. Monday, January 7, 2008. Fifteenth President - James Buchanan - 0 comments. Buchanan, our only bachelor President, is now considered one of the worst Presidents ever. Why? Friday, January 4, 2008. Pretty-boy Pierce won the election after Fill...

Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Thirty-fourth President: Dwight D. Eisenhower - 2 comments. Sure, we can thank Eisenhower for his pivotal role in WWII, for the space race, for a more powerful Social Security. But personally? I'm big, big fan of the Interstate Highway System. If you've ever driven 200 miles in less than three hours, then you should thank him too. Sunday, April 6, 2008. Thirty-third President: Harry S Truman - 2 comments. But did you know: his middle initial doesn't stand for anything? Hall of the...

Saturday, June 21, 2008. Thirty-fifth President: John F. Kennedy - 3 comments. Sorry for the drought, loyal readers. All the Presidents in this series have come from the National Portrait Gallery, in which Mr. Kennedy is sadly underrepresented. His most prominent portrait is by Elaine de Kooning, whos abstract expressionist style doesn't really fit with my drawing goals. Instead, I found a photograph that's included in the gallery as well.
