perennialsteps: June 2010

Monday, June 28, 2010. Links to this post. Cemetery, hills, forest, river in Tana Toraja: Jun 2010. Tira and me stayed at my uncle’s house, while Riky stayed at Wisma Maria I, a hostel run by my relatives. Some villagers just passed by to do their activities, made Tongkonan, a Torajan traditional house, pushed a car. Hohoho it's my friends pushing the car not the villagers. While enjoying the gorgeous view, including the car pushing, by my eyes, my ears catched the voice of sprinkling water down from the...

Monday, April 18, 2011. Kuta Beach, Lombok: Apr'2011. Day 2: Sukarara village, Sade village, Kuta beach. Our last stop before going to the airport was Kuta beach. It is beautiful and pristine just like another beach in Lombok Islands. I rush the lunch time so I can have more time to play on the beach with Joy and Putri. We went to the coral reef that revealed due to the low tide. Some children were fishing there. Links to this post. Labels: Indonesia - West Nusa Tenggara. There was also a traditional cer...

perennialsteps: Mount Rinjani in Lombok: Jul'11
http://perennialsteps.blogspot.com/2011/08/mount-rinjani-in-lombok-jul11.html
Thursday, August 25, 2011. Mount Rinjani in Lombok: Jul'11. After the hills, we went through a small not too-dense forest. On the way to the forest, we met some locals carrying some chunck of woods for cooking. The porters had arrived at second base camp before us to prepare the lunch. There were around four other groups having lunch on the base camp which actually is a bridge. Rudy, Yadhi, Ahau, Berti and Lucky took a nap on the bridge while waiting for the lunch prepared. I'll explain it later on.

perennialsteps: NYC: Thanksgiving 2011
http://perennialsteps.blogspot.com/2012/01/nyc-thanksgiving-2011.html
Monday, January 2, 2012. Happy Thanksgiving November 24, 2011 and New York New York song stopped by into my ears as Pat, Stefi, X and I spend our Thanksgiving holiday in NYC. Why NYC? My first impression of NYC: feels like as if I were in Jakarta…in a better version of course. The street is packed of people for sure. I wonder seeing the people. I bet they’re not Americans. I mean the normal American would be at home preparing Thanksgiving dinner right? Besides the audience itself, we can see the parade!

perennialsteps: February 2010

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Meru Betiri National Park: Feb'10. This time I had a trip to Meru Betiri and Alas Purwo national park with Arya, Dian, Riky, Rinta, Rita, Tiwi, Yana, and Yanti. The road to the area is awesome. We were passing a rubber plantation, cacao plantation, local people housing, and the forest on our way to Teluk inside the national park. From above, Teluk view is a stunning one that make you want to right away go closer to it. Or may be because it often go back and forth between Indone...

Monday, December 27, 2010. Morocco - Casablanca and Marrakesh: Dec'10. As we got to Casa Voyageur train station, the first thing we do was buying train ticket for the next morning to Marrakesh, then taking a petit (small) taxi to Galia Hotel. From the hotel, we were off to Hassan II Mosque. I had the same experience with some teenagers in Nepal. It’s funny and great though. We had to end the conversation because we had not had our lunch yet and it was already afternoon. We sauntered around Central Market...

Monday, February 28, 2011. Day 1: Semarang, Bandungan, Ambarawa, Salatiga. I jotted down some weekend travel choices on a Tuesday with Lonely Planet Indonesia book besides me. The options were Solo, Togian Islands and Balliem Valey. Of course, Solo was the most sensible option for a weekend excursion. It seems that I have planted in my mind to have an excursion once in a month. Ed me to go straight outside Tawangan train station where I could find taxis with fare-meter plying for hire. We headed to Candi...
