PaddlePedalPlod: Crazy Timing
http://paddlepedalplod.blogspot.com/2013/01/crazy-timing.html
Thursday, January 10, 2013. Sometimes, the weather cooperates and you get that break in the clouds, or the perfect soft breeze to cool you off on a run. Last night was not one of those times. On the schedule was 9 hills. For the past couple of days, the weather has been unseasonably warm - warm enough to melt a lot of the snow we've had. I'd heard that it was going to get a bit colder in the evening, but the forecast was for -7 (C) or so; not too bad. As crappy as all that was, it was a bit of an ego boo...

PaddlePedalPlod: February 2011
http://paddlepedalplod.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 1, 2011. I'm Getting Too Old For This Sh*t. I used to be able to indulge in more than a few drinks, stay up all night, get up early, snowboard all day, then do it all over again. Ah, to be young and stupid. Well, in some ways I suppose I still am. This weekend, we went out to our place in Fernie, BC for the annual weekend with our friends. It's a great little spot that we're very, very lucky to have, and we're even more lucky to have great friends to come with us! Blue skies and powder!

Yes, no more Fish Creek Park (at least, not on a regular basis). We now have our first house (very excited, but very scared all at the same time). GoogleMaps doesn't even show it yet). Survival is not enough!: October 2011
http://dansironbrickroad.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
I am at a point in my life that I thought I would never be.training to complete an Ironman triathlon. I decided I needed a goal to continue my new healthy lifestyle. Why not aim big? Saturday, October 1, 2011. Learning to hurt all over again. My first goal for the half distance was to simply finish, even though in the back of my mind I wanted to be sub 2hrs. On my first half I didn't make it under 2 hours. On the occasion I ran the first 10km in 51 minutes and then suffered for the next 11! I was making ...

Survival is not enough!: The road to recovery and ass kicking
http://dansironbrickroad.blogspot.com/2011/05/road-to-recovery-and-ass-kicking.html
I am at a point in my life that I thought I would never be.training to complete an Ironman triathlon. I decided I needed a goal to continue my new healthy lifestyle. Why not aim big? Saturday, May 14, 2011. The road to recovery and ass kicking. I was pretty glad to roll into my hood. I did 63km in just under 3 hours. That sucked considering at Great White North I did 90km in 2:46. Totally different conditions so it may be comparing apples to oranges. At times I was in my easiest granny ge...As hard as to...

PaddlePedalPlod: July 2009
http://paddlepedalplod.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 13, 2009. Inspiration, Giddiness, and Blogging in My Brain. Walking home from the pool on a clear Ohio evening, just as the sun was going down, I saw a flash in the grass. A broken piece of glass or a reflector? A piece of garbage? Either way, it was enough to turn my head, and as soon as I did, I noticed little green flashes and glows everywhere. It was The Coolest Thing Ever. It's been a while since I've posted, so I have a bit of a backlog. I tend to write as I run (or bike, or swim)&...
