Because of the flora and fauna in and around Corby Loch and Lily Loch to the west, both lochs form a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designated on 26th October 1983 as shown in the map. Being a natural loch Corby and the surrounding area abounds with wildlife and apart from wildfowl and birds of prey you may be lucky enough to see otters, stoats, foxes and deer amongst others.
Corby has a good natural head of Brown Trout some still retaining the characteristic gold bellies and large spots of fish stocked many years ago. In recent seasons Corby has developed a reputation for good Brown Trout fishing and brownies over four pound have been returned to the water. Corby is a fly only loch. Traditional flies, nymphs and buzzers tend to produce better results than lures. Advice on current successful methods may be obtained from the proprietor. Mobile : 07711 152562 or email : info@co...
