Saturday, January 28, 2006. SCES goes to CapitolTech! SCES is one of 13 schools in the state. To be selected to present at CapitolTech. During our presentation, the student will share three things. The first is a video that tells our story and why we feel technology is important. The students will demonstrate how we use the Promethean board to teach math. Finally, the students will show the SCES CapitolTech blog. Which contains links to websites that we use in our classrooms to enhance math instruction.

Friday, February 08, 2008. Comments from Collaborative 3. As each teacher presented, we used Google docs to make the comments listed below. The students were told the requirements ahead of time and the students used the digital camera to make pictures of geometric shapes. The students worked for thirty minutes on two days to complete the assessment flipcharts. The students did a super job. Great assessment. I know that the students enjoyed it! I am sure their grades showed their knowledge of the activity.

Thursday, November 17, 2005. We discussed how to find angles in the real world while working on Yvonne's unit during redelivery today (actually we are still discussing it right now! I used this activity Angle Art. In my 5th grade class the other day and the kids could apply the concept, finding angles in artwork, to their own drawings after we finished the lesson. You go the the resource library, then go to the shared activities (last icon on bottom), and there are some of the neatest activities for centers or just review. They really are good.
