Korat.Asia: November 2013
http://www.korat.asia/2013_11_01_archive.html
Another view from Nakhon Ratchasima. Monday, November 25, 2013. The pennies are crawling in (Advertisements 4). Or is it, that my readers are just not interested in ads? Lots of things to consider: if my site hasn't propagated well, if I failed in making it known, I can hardly blame the ad agency for not paying what isn't coming forth: the targeted audience! I will get to reports with particular agencies sometime in the future, it's still to early for valid conclusions about good or bad. I'm still experi...

Korat.Asia: Who is the audience, who reads this blog?
http://www.korat.asia/2013/07/who-is-audience-who-reads-this-blog.html
Another view from Nakhon Ratchasima. Monday, July 29, 2013. Who is the audience, who reads this blog? This very new blog for example had pageviews in the last week: 414 from the US, 91 from Thailand (including me working on the blog), 52 from India, 39 from China, 16 from France, etc. That shows that my audience is mainly in the US at present. This can change anytime, therefore continued monitoring is necessary. The most looked up article is Rather living in Korat than Pattaya or Phuket. Dear Reader, ...

Korat.Asia: October 2013
http://www.korat.asia/2013_10_01_archive.html
Another view from Nakhon Ratchasima. Saturday, October 19, 2013. Expat Life in Korat. Once in a while the topic of a functioning expat community in Korat gets discussed, whether there is a community of expats in downtown Korat to integrate into. Just a few days ago somebody posted on the ThaiVisa forum:. If you're desperate for social contacts to other expats, you'll really have to work hard to find the right people and environment. Korat.Asia: February 2014
http://www.korat.asia/2014_02_01_archive.html
Another view from Nakhon Ratchasima. Thursday, February 6, 2014. Oops, Webhost down! Having an alternative source of information for the members and readers of your forums running on another webhost, that is not likely to break down at the same time is always a good thing. There you can inform about the problems and what you might do to solve them, like setting up an alternative at another host etc. And with the size of your site also the difficulty grew to keep everything backed up, like attachments etc.

Korat.Asia: Advertisements (vol. 3)
http://www.korat.asia/2013/11/advertisements-vol-3.html
Another view from Nakhon Ratchasima. Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Advertisements (vol. 3). Even if the ad agencies promise their ads to be contextual, i.e. placed on the occurrence of keywords used in the text of your website and other targeting factors, hardly any of those less known agencies was able to match it to an acceptable degree. So, I guess the advertising market for small bloggers is still confined to the huge companies Google and Yahoo/Bing. But beware! Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Dear Rea...

Korat.Asia: Farang Friends or Neighbors
http://www.korat.asia/2013/07/farang-friends-or-neighbors.html
Another view from Nakhon Ratchasima. Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Farang Friends or Neighbors. Good Friends Are Hard To Come By" is far more valid in Isaan and Korat than anywhere else. That is for quite a few reasons:. Most farangs settling in Korat are near or past retirement age with a strong character already unable to adapt to changed or changing situations so easily, feeling now they were at the command of others, therefore not quite happy to be here. And be as independent and self-reliant as possible&#...

Korat.Asia: Advertisements (vol. 2)
http://www.korat.asia/2013/07/advertisements-vol-2.html
Another view from Nakhon Ratchasima. Friday, July 26, 2013. Advertisements (vol. 2). I didn't expect news already so soon. Here's how it went 'til now:. Among the hundreds of advertising agencies I had signed up with ADFORNET to try first. They had sent me an email to one of my domains to alert to their service. I had googled for opinions about their service and found just a few, as they're still pretty new. OK I said to myself, go ahead and try! Friday, July 26, 2013. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Korat.Asia: Rather living in Korat than Pattaya or Phuket
http://www.korat.asia/2013/06/rather-living-in-korat-than-pattaya-or.html
Another view from Nakhon Ratchasima. Sunday, June 23, 2013. Rather living in Korat than Pattaya or Phuket. Isn't it funny that those "escaping to here" are looked down upon as a minority? Question is whether they are actually a minority, or not already the wiser majority, able to live and make decisions on their own, opposite to those who can't do a step further than the "point of entry", where they're fully taken care (and also to a great extent advantage) of? Sunday, June 23, 2013. Dear Reader, Good Fr...
