Photography, Art, Politics, and Food. Why I’m in Florida. The image above was taken last evening on the Vilano Beach fishing pier. The temperature was a chilly 60 degrees with a strong wind. The image below is a webcam capture from the Ober Gatlinburg ski resort about 1/2 mile from my northern Smokies Light studio (condo). It’s 26 degrees there this morning. January 18, 2013. March 13, 2013. An experiment testing the boundaries of HDR. The setting but still very bright sun was directly behind the lighthouse. Without HDR the lighthouse would have been a black silhouette, but with HDR the stripes and other details in the shadow are still visible. January 30, 2013. January 27, 2013. On Lay Me Down.

Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. As always.click on the pics to enlarge them. A quick peek with cell phone out the window as we are somewhere over Colorado or Wyoming. A few bison trudge along near Gros Ventre. I love the way the bison stick their tongues out as they grunt and groan at each other. Oodles of bison in the Lamar Valley.
