How can I get a ramp for my business? If you are a business owner in the City of Kingston and wish to find out how to get a custom built ramp for your business entrance please send an email to stopgapkingston@outlook.com. And provide with your contact information including the name and address of your business. Please note the next ramp build with be spring/summer of 2016 but you can certainly get on the list. The idea of bringing StopGap to the City of Kingston began in 2012 through the Citys Senior Advisory Committee as part of the Age-friendly planning process. StopGap was included in the approved recommendations under the Citys Age-friendly plan. The Citys Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee (MAAC) also strongly supported the idea of bringing this to Kingston. Information was shared with businesses and the first ten locations identified. Entrances were measured (and then measured again to be sure!

StopGap Kingston believes in full transparency; below is an accounting of all StopGap Kingston Community Ramp Project costs to date, as of October 15th, 2015. While we are thrilled that all expenses to date have been covered through donations of time and materials, going forward we expect that we will need to purchase materials for future ramp builds and are grateful for all donations received. 500 #8 1.75 deck screws. 500 #8 1.5 deck screws. When we come together as a community, we make amazing things happen. StopGap Kingston has so far supplied ten participating businesses. With free access ramps. By doing so, these businesses are now accessible for Kingstonians and visitors who use wheelchairs,other mobility aids or strollers. This helps create a city we can all live, work and play! To bring this project to life, we reached out to the community to help and we werent disappointed! Thank you for your support and helping Stop the Gap!
