Tuesday, August 16, 2011. No Rain, But A Rainbow. This monsoon season has been underwhelming, at best. Granted, it's rained five times now since the beginning of July (whoopee), but they've all been paltry little showers that didn't amount to much but work for me emptying the puddles from my rain barrels before the mosquitoes can breed (run-on sentence of the day, thank you much). Addicted To Hoes: April 2007
http://addictedtohoes.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 22, 2007. Below is a tour of the yard as of this weekend, covering as many things as I could in pictures. We've had a little rain recently and mild temps, so the yard is doing pretty well right now. It's supposed to be near 100 next weekend, however, we'll see where we are then. More recovery here in this planter, I had to cut my indian. Lilies are doing well, and I hope to have some blooms on those soon (planter in the lower left). We've been running the fountain at nights this weekend wit...

Addicted To Hoes: August 2006
http://addictedtohoes.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 24, 2006. Other projects I have lined up for the yard:. Digging out a sandbox area near the back porch for Brenna. Filling in the last dirt area in the back yard with gravel to match what's. Already been laid down (giving up on the idea of building a gazebo, not enough. Room, time, or money to attempt such a project). Digging out a trench on the north side of the house for planting a row of grape. Vines, for when it cools off in a few months. Friday, July 22, 2011. Not That Kind Of) Herb Update. Ye old basil is coming on strong, I've had to lift the heat lamp up a few notches in the just the last few days. The thyme and dill are also coming along. Not sure where to transplant these to when they outgrow their home, as it's way to hot to move anything outside. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Time to water the yard at sunup tomorrow morning, I'll try to remember to take some pictures to upload. Tom, Emily, Brenna.

Addicted To Hoes: February 2007
http://addictedtohoes.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 21, 2007. Some of the following I know what they are, others I didn't label them when I planted them, and don't have a clue just from the greenery. These I know are my day lilies. Type of Iris, perhaps? I have more than one shoot coming out of each of these three bulbs. Found these in two different places in the yard, put them together. One of the bulbs has four shoots coming out (pictured). More Iris of some sort? Thin shoots , getting so tall they're falling over, but no blooms yet.

Addicted To Hoes
http://addictedtohoes.blogspot.com/2012/01/poor-neglected-hoes-its-been-months-now.html
Monday, January 23, 2012. It's been months now since I've tended to my Hoes. Had I taken the time, I'm sure there were some interesting things going on in the yard worth posting, but at least I'm back at it now. Our weather has been mild most of this winter, with little bits of rain here and there. Matter of fact, it's supposed to rain later today. We'll see. We had nearly two inches back in December, which provided me a month's worth of rain water, so that was nice. So let's get on with it. Two of my fi...

Addicted To Hoes: October 2006
http://addictedtohoes.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 29, 2006. I finally finished planting some Iris and Ixia bulbs yesterday and took these pictures below. Our pink morning glory is finally blooming and the other picture here is our turks cap or sleepy hibiscus, named as such because the blooms never open beyond what you see here. Posted by Tom, Emily, Brenna @ 4:01 PM. Thursday, October 26, 2006. I'm hoping to get some more yard pictures posted here as time permits. Posted by Tom, Emily, Brenna @ 11:57 PM. Thursday, July 14, 2011. Indoor Herb Growing (Not That Kind Of Herb). My parents got me this nifty indoor herb grower for my birthday, and they're all coming up nicely (basil, dill and thyme). I've also added a gourd to my collection, this one never got any larger than it was back in May, but the vine was dying, so I cut it loose before it fell apart, also. Comparing it to the other three, I guess it's not that bad a size. Posted by Tom, Emily, Brenna @ 6:43 PM. Tom, Emily, Brenna. Arizona, United States.

Addicted To Hoes: November 2006
http://addictedtohoes.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 20, 2006. Here we are on the 20th of November and it was 89 degrees today. Ouch. Well, on one hand my Chinese Tallow tree is turning a nice shade of red, since our mornings have been cool, and on the other, my narcissus bulbs I planted just a month ago are sprouting. Should be interesting to see how those do when it gets down around freezing in a month (supposedly). I've also posted another picture of our pink morning glory, which has reached its blooming peak. Addicted To Hoes: September 2006

Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Are some of these Mexican Daisy's? Whatever they are, enjoy the colors! Posted by Tom, Emily, Brenna @ 4:38 PM. Friday, September 15, 2006. Welp, this is the end, that front there cut off our moisture from Mexico, today was very nice, about 90 and breezy. It was 68 this morning, I'm hoping we hang onto these nice temps until, oh, say, next May. A couple of pictures from the yard. Posted by Tom, Emily, Brenna @ 9:06 PM. Monday, September 04, 2006.
