Thad Steffen - Environment Artist
This is the project where I fell in love with hand-painting textures. All textures in the scene are hand-painted, and all designs are orginal concepts. I used 3ds Max, ZBrush, nDo2, Photoshop, and UDK. Click images for full-size version. Here I wanted to do something a little different from the hard-surface/realistic style of Demonflies. I also challenged myself to see how far I could push the diffuse texture without the use of normal or specular maps. I used 3ds Max, ZBrush, Photoshop, and UDK.
