The nightingale is iffy at the moment - Malcolm Brown thinks he heard a short burst of its song yesterday - but the whitethroats and linnets are singing beautifully and can be heard and seen all over the heath. With the recent warm weather grass snakes and common lizards have been seen all over the place. We may also have some red-legged partridges nesting.
