Sunday, May 26, 2013. We had tons of snow and the skiing was great. One storm brought us so much snow and drifting that our neighbor had to plow us out with his bulldozer. The shop stayed nice and warm, probably due to the steamer being on just about every day. The Penn Yan Swift is canvassd and filled and the trim work is being worked on. Monday, January 12, 2015. We are often asked if we have enough work to keep us busy through the winter. The answer is yes and then some. We keep very busy year round but winter is usually one of our busiest times of the year - come spring and early summer is when everyone wants their canoes and boats. . 1930's OLD TOWN DINGHY continued. The new inner keel was steam bent on a jig. Here Emily has the keel removed and is. Planning the rolling bevel on the underside. With a coping saw and finish with a chisel.

Thursday, September 19, 2013. Shop updates - Penn Yan Swift, EM White, Old Town Canoe. Lots of pictures in this update. We have some really nice projects currently going on in the shop which we will get to in a later update. First, lets play catch up and see some of the finished projects from this summer. Monday, June 8, 2015. We are once again embarking on that bustling time of year when canoes are coming and going from all over the country. Finished canoes are leaving the shop and heading back to their owners. Orders continue to be placed for new canoes and restorations. Saturday, November 19, 2011. EM White Square Stern Canoe. Here are some pictures of the EM White square stern canoe under going restoration in our shop. The first shows the 15 inch wide maple deck steam bent on the bending jig. Once the deck has dried on the jig, it is removed, shaped to fit, and installed. 15 ribs were replaced. 8 in a row are shown here. The planking is beveled and each strake over laps the adjoining plank. The new plank is shaped and the bevel is cut along the edge. Not bad, eh? Mahog...
