The Prairie Wife: They are here!
http://theprairiewife.blogspot.com/2013/05/they-are-here.html
Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Fern and her new babies! Fern started rooting around and making a nest last night. She was due on Monday by my figuring, but I guess I was off by a couple of days :). I was so excited! Only one has an all black head like the mama, the others resemble Wilbur more. With care, we are hoping a large majority make it. We plan to butcher two in the Fall/Winter and sell the others in about a month. Posted by Amy E. May 23, 2013 at 1:12 PM. Congratulations, there adorable. 70 eggs so far.

Renewable on the cheap. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. DIY Solar Hot Water. Some things have been nagging me lately about solar hot water collectors. Take a look at this chart. You can find this graph here. They are really efficient when the outside air temp is close to the water temp. At 90F sunny day and water te...

Saturday, January 31, 2009. Book Review: Back to Basics. Bonus post – because I’m really happy with the book that I just got in the mail, and because I don’t think one book is worth my once-weekly post. Not long ago, I ordered Back to Basics: A Complete Guide to Traditional Skills. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. A Tale of Two Cities. Just as the bear forages for food.we also should prepare for bumps on the road. The garden, well that is going great, which I am amazed about. The area we are trying to grow our food is full of roots. I keep working at the soil and pulling out roots. So we will have to wait to see what comes from the labor. Right now I have some lima beans, peas, tomatos, peppers, and cukes planted in the garden. July 7, 2009 at 7:27 PM. April 3, 2010 at 11:13 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Just as the bear forages for food.we also should prepare for bumps on the road. Winter Planning - Ramblings. I keep watching the talks of this massive bail out and keep wondering how it will affect me. Well I have came to the conclusion. We all will have to pay for these idiots. I say let them come down, let the market corrected it self. We have seen and heard enough on this bailout, so on to another subject. Are your walls to your castle strong and fortified? I would suggest all prepper's. And see if th...

Surviving mild insanity in a slightly sane manner. Preppin' for the worst, hoping for the best. Prep and Learn Links. Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Tanker surprised me the other day by saying he was happy that I was happy about the move. I asked him why. T "Because I was worried you'd be sad to leave.". Why would you think that? T "This is your home.". Me "Um, babe.we moved to KY when I was 4. I was gone from MO for 23 years.it's where we visited. Not where we lived.". T "I still thought you'd be sad.".
