Hail, O Reproof of foolish philosophers! Akathist Hymn to the Virgin Mary. Sunday, August 02, 2009. Good days can be hard days. We've been homeschooling for a bit more than a year now, and we've learned that its hard. Really hard. To teach one child while trying to keep the other children happy is hard. To teach two children is harder. Many days we end up exhausted. As someone we know once said, homeschooling is the hardest best thing we've ever done. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Womenpriests have a lot to teach us. About inconsistencies in the Reformed understanding of ordination! | Homesick No More
https://mattyonke.wordpress.com/2010/06/15/womenpriests
Thoughts of a Byzantine Catholic Pro-Life Activist. Womenpriests have a lot to teach us. About inconsistencies in the Reformed understanding of ordination! June 15, 2010 in Protestant/Catholic Debate. Here we go again. Roman Catholic Womenpriests. Have “ ordained. And that leads to a question: since the very concept of ordination is, by necessity, much looser in protestantism, are women “priests” or “ministers” actually “priests” or “ministers”? Do they have real authority from God? Certainly Scripture s...

Thoughts of a Byzantine Catholic Pro-Life Activist. A Defense of My, Sometimes Obnoxious, Job. June 8, 2010 in Pro-Life. This is a video I put together of a protest we held in Cedar Rapids Iowa when Planned Parenthood Federation of America CEO Cecile Richards came to speak at Planned Parenthood of East Central Iowa’s 30th anniversary celebration. I started going to Church with Eric Scheidler. The executive director of the Pro-Life Action League. Nearly a year later, he offered me the opportunity to come ...

What to Make of Gay Marriage | Homesick No More

Thoughts of a Byzantine Catholic Pro-Life Activist. What to Make of Gay Marriage. June 16, 2010 in Culture. With the Prop 8 trial. Finishing up today, I’ve been thinking a bit about the issue. Part of me, the part that was dominant for a long time, felt that, much like the previous post on women being ordained as priests, it didn’t really matter because nothing spiritual was actually happening from a Christian perspective. I’ve since been persuaded by other arguments that are really tangential to t...

Thoughts of a Byzantine Catholic Pro-Life Activist. Father Failure is Cyclical. June 22, 2010 in Music. Harry Nilsson is one of the great singer-songwriters of all time. John Lennon and Paul McCartney both acknowledge Nilsson as the greatest living American working the craft. His songs ranged from silly, like the ubiquitous “ Coconut. 8221; to deeply personal, like this one, “1941.” And the guy has an absolutely amazing voice. All Who Wander Are Not Lost. Thoughts of a Byzantine Catholic Pro-Life Activist. Hey, remember when Matt Yonke used to blog? June 4, 2010 in Blogging. He did, I swear. For years and years. Then he dropped it like a hot rock back in the spring of ought 9. It was especially fun to read back on all the old discussion we had about Catholicism, contraception, Church history and all that fun stuff. So let’s tear it up like we used to. Let’s get the band back together. Whaddya say? All Who Wander Are Not Lost. Athiesm, Where Is Thy Sting?

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in spirit, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Teach me to seek You and reveal yourself to me when I seek You.
