Adventures in Frugal World
Adventures in Frugal World. Remember this - that very little is needed to make a happy life." - Marcus Aurelius. Sunday, April 4, 2010. We just wanted a yard". When I unexpectedly found myself pregnant in 2007 I remember being horribly depressed that I was going to have a child who had to live in an apartment and not have a yard. I did not even want to set up his bedroom because I felt like it was inferior. To do coupons, make meals ahead of time, eat out less, buy used, sell things we no longer needed.

Friday, July 10, 2009. Apricots grill nicely, because even a lot of heat and smoke won’t overwhelm their natural tanginess. And they have enough moisture that you can’t really burn them. I put them right over the coals, at a low to medium heat, for a few minutes, turning once. I usually sprinkle a bit of brown sugar over them first. The sugar will burn, but that’s part of the flavor profile. Grilling an apricot even has the ability to turn a mediocre grocery store apricot into something truly special!

Adventures In Funemployment
Just another casualty of corporate layoffs looking for a good way to squander my severance. Monday, February 15, 2010. The End of the Road. It's impossible to summarize the effect of my time off in any single post. And I think that's why I've had such a hard time writing since I've returned from my jaunt through the South Pacific and SE Asia. But it's time to put pen to paper, or in this case fingers to keyboard, and conclude this amazing adventure with one final post. 5 When you travel alone, you are on...

Adventures in Fused Glass
Adventures in Fused Glass. When life gives you lemons. I got interested in glass fusing after seeing the works of Duane Dahl in a gallery. He makes beautiful bowls, trays, and platters by slumping glass over river rocks. I signed up for a Community Ed class, bought a small kiln, and jumped in. The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences as I learn how to fuse, slump, and drape glass. View my complete profile. Thursday, April 2, 2009. When life gives you lemons. Adventures in Futility and Knitting
Adventures in Futility and Knitting. FO: Passionate Meeting Point. Posted in Finished Objects. When I bought my birthday yarn, this project was what I had in mind.
