A Bit of the Alps. June 17, 2015. June 17, 2015. We planned to take the train from France to Italy, which would mean that we passed through Switzerland! We were absolutely thrilled to find that our Eurail Pass would cover talking a cruise across Lake Lucerne. It was one of the most breathtaking days of our trip! We arrived on the border of Switzerland late in the evening and spent the night in an apartment close to the lake. It snowed overnight! I loved the clean cobbled streets! We boarded our boat!
