Adventures with Kristine: Creatively Challenged
http://adventureswithkristine.blogspot.com/2012/01/creatively-challenged.html
Food is an adventure, adventures should be shared. Monday, January 2, 2012. I often tell people my only creative release is through cooking. I also consider my writing to be witty, reader friendly, and sometimes, intelligent. Sounds like a natural fit for a good food blog right? I've thought of starting one at least 15 times now and each time I hit the "add new post" button, my mind goes : poop:. But alas, it is 2012! There is no time like the present, amirite? http://adventureswithkristine.blogspot.com/2012/01/pineapple-cashew-quinoa-stir-fry.html
Food is an adventure, adventures should be shared. Monday, January 23, 2012. This is a modified take on a delicious dish from one of my recipe e-books, Veganomigon. There are a lot of ingredients in this recipe, even more in the original, but don't be afraid to cut out or substitute things to your preference. Don't be scared and enjoy! For the original recipe. 1/2 a package of organic and firm tofu. EVOO (for cooking the 'fu). Salt and pepp to taste. 1 cup of organic quinoa. 1 cup of cold water. Set up a...
Adventures with Kristine: Pinky's Up, It's Tea Time
http://adventureswithkristine.blogspot.com/2012/01/pinkys-up-its-tea-time.html
Food is an adventure, adventures should be shared. Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Pinky's Up, It's Tea Time. My recent trip to London really helped to open my eyes to the joys of frequent tea consumption. While I can't imagine consuming 5 cups a day (yup that's the UK average), I'll scrounge up at least a couple of cups a week. The world of tea has its limits with excitement and complexity (for me at least), but there is something not-so-new that is growing in popularity here in the 'states'.

Peas. Love. Balance.: Busy Weekend & Homemade Almond Milk
http://peaslovebalance.blogspot.com/2012/03/busy-weekend-homemade-almond-milk.html
Monday, March 26, 2012. Busy Weekend and Homemade Almond Milk. Sheesh, this has been one caraaazy month! It seems like every weekend we are running all over or traveling somewhere - it makes my two short days off go way too quickly! This weekend I tried to make the most of my time by making my own almond milk - I tried two different methods and found a winner:. Attempt 1: (not the winner - but good if you don't feel like/forget to soak your almonds). Bring 2 cups of water. To a boil in a small sauce pan.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. I'm sorry friends. I really am the WORST food blogger. It's a good thing this isn't my day job! It seems like recently I haven't really had anything great to share - work has been crazy busy so my dinners have consisted of super easy meals (lots of veggie burgers) on the go. Today I cooked, but believe me. It was convenience food at it's finest. Gardein Crispy Mandarin Orange Chick'n (a must try for herbivores and carnivores alike). The rice had to be a part of my dinner tonight.
Peas. Love. Balance.: Packaged Food Crutch
http://peaslovebalance.blogspot.com/2012/03/packaged-food-crutch.html
Saturday, March 17, 2012. While I have thoroughly enjoyed my recent binge with all types of vegan comfort & convenience foods (tofu, tempeh, macaroni and teese, daiya, gardein, pre-packaged veggie burgers, bagels with tofutti - actually anything. My body has not. The past few days I have been sluggish so I started thinking about what I have been eating. I realized that while these things tasted good and reminded me of delicious foods I haven't eaten in a while, they are also the exact opposite. Here's a ...
Peas. Love. Balance.: December 2011
http://peaslovebalance.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 30, 2011. So What Do You EAT? This has been the #1 question people ask when when I tell them that I'm not eating meat anymore. I decided that to answer this best I could show what I eat on a typical day. So yesterday went a little like this:. Breakfast - Rolled oats made with almond milk, walnuts, craisins and a drizzle of maple syrup. Dinner - Stir fry (aka - clean out all the veggies in the fridge that are about to go bad) It was so good even my meat loving husband ate 3 bowls! 5 (my p...

Sunday, April 15, 2012. My First Kale Salad. Woah, sorry for my laze-induced absence from PLB! I was on spring break for the last week and a half, so naturally I had BIG plans and an even bigger to-do list (i.e.: spring. Clean the apt., do portfolio, finish NYC teaching application, clean out the fridge.) Fast forward to today, and I only have a clean fridge. I guess it's better than nothing, right? After my heart attack trying the dress on I knew I needed a plan. Here's how that went:. One problem is th...

Peas. Love. Balance.: Slow Cooker Chana Masala
http://peaslovebalance.blogspot.com/2012/03/slow-cooker-chana-masala.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Slow Cooker Chana Masala. True story: I found chana masala by accident. We went out to get some Indian for dinner, and I was at a complete loss. My go-to Indian food was always chicken masala, I loved. There's no funky processed foods in here either ;). Slow Cooker Chana Masala. 2 cups dried chick peas (or 2 16 oz cans, although I *highly* recommend using dried! 1 onion - chopped. 28 oz can diced tomatoes. 6 oz can tomato paste. 3 tsp garam masala. 2 tsp garlic powder.

Adventures with Kristen
Sunday, May 4, 2008. Just a quick note to say that we are back in the good ole USA! Only a few events occurred between my last email and this one. We had no problems with travel - The Lord took good care of us and returned safely. S - like what about al the other religions, and do we believe they are the same or not - well, we just answered with scripture (it doesn't matter what i think, it matters what God says) - "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father apart from me? We also ...
