The proposed new AECC (Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre) will be built on the site of the Rowett Institute in Bucksburn, which becomes available when the Rowett moves to a new building on the Foresterhill health campus. AECC is constrained in the type and scale of events it can hold and, because of its age it is becoming increasingly challenging for the venue to keep up with a growing demand for large-scale events in Aberdeen.
