Below is a photo of a postcard sent by Archie’s uncle Fay to recognize his birth. The postmark is May 1, 1905, a few days after Archie’s birthdate of April 23. Why it is addressed to “J. M. Garden” is a mystery; if Fay did not know Archie’s name, what did J. M. stand for? The first photo below, circa 1911 or1912, is of Archie and baby brother, Merrill, on a horse with cousin Lyle McClure watching.
