Howdy Foodie: Thumb's Up Diner: Hefty Plates and Long Waits
http://howdyfoodie.blogspot.com/2007/10/thumbs-up-diner-hefty-plates-and-long.html
A vegetarian guide to dining out in Atlanta. Sunday, October 14, 2007. Thumb's Up Diner: Hefty Plates and Long Waits. With a seemingly unlimited selection of brunch purveyors in our city, it still shocks me that I have to endure long lines for seating and service at many of my favorite establishments. I am not known for possessing endless patience, therefore it surprises me even more that I am willing. Let me say first that the portions here are HUGE. This isn't just American portion. Would I Go Back:.

Howdy Foodie: Consider The Vegetarian
http://howdyfoodie.blogspot.com/2007/08/consider-vegetarian.html
A vegetarian guide to dining out in Atlanta. Sunday, August 12, 2007. We all have that friend. You know, the one who loves to eat out and try new restaurants but who has that bewildering (and sometimes irritating) dietary limitation. No matter which kind of establishment you choose, whether upscale or casual, ethnic or domestic, chain or independent, one question must invariably be answered: IS THERE ANYTHING VEGETARIAN. This blog is devoted to searching the city for exquisitely prepared plates that will...

http://howdyfoodie.blogspot.com/2011/07/im-back.html
A vegetarian guide to dining out in Atlanta. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Well, suffice it to say, it's been awhile. I'd stopped being a vegetarian, moved on to other blogging platforms, generally got bored with eating out in Atlanta.but I found a veggie burger that needs a shout. This tasty surprise gets an A-, and with Cafe di Sol's offering tops my list of veggie burgers in the city. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A vegetarian guide to dining out in Atlanta. Howdy Foodie: TAP, or Really? That's all I get??
http://howdyfoodie.blogspot.com/2007/09/tap-or-really-thats-all-i-get.html
A vegetarian guide to dining out in Atlanta. Tuesday, September 11, 2007. TAP, or Really? That's all I get? While I've often felt excluded by restaurants with meat-heavy menus, I've never felt that I'd actually been punished. Until I patronized TAP a few evenings ago. When our waiter described some of the vegetarian offerings, he spoke slowly in the way that many people speak to children or the mentally infirm. Yeeees we have lots of great saaaaalads.". Oooh a salad, lucky me! And it's TWELVE DOLLARS?

Howdy Foodie: August 2007
http://howdyfoodie.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
A vegetarian guide to dining out in Atlanta. Wednesday, August 22, 2007. It is a well-known axiom in the South that the best food in the world is always prepared by our grandmothers. There is nothing so sweet, so succulent, so sinfully good as whatever your grandmother has just cooked or baked. With this caveat in mind, I still think I would have disliked the fried tomato sandwich at the Fickle Pickle in Roswell Square. Would I Go Back? Other Veg Options I Did Not Order. The fried cajun pickles were a ta...

Thursday, November 1, 2007. Oh, and I adopted a cat. kind of. maybe. This is what happens when the FCC holds a very short-notice hearing on media consolidation on Halloween. I hope that there will be pictures and video of this available soon. Those of us who stayed at the office today watched it all online - the FCC streams hearings, I guess - and it was pretty amazing. I love being a part of this organization. Hearing a panel of experts, including people such as Jesse Jackson and. Phuong X. Pham.

Howdy Foodie: Highland Bakery: Brunch Edition
http://howdyfoodie.blogspot.com/2007/09/highland-bakery-brunch-edition_04.html
A vegetarian guide to dining out in Atlanta. Tuesday, September 4, 2007. Highland Bakery: Brunch Edition. There is nothing so sensational, so satisfying, and yet so elusive. As a perfect cup of coffee at brunch. To many, this would seem a given. Brunch, one would assume, should come complete with the kind of coffee that goes down so smooth that one doesn't mind drinking after noon. That when you close your eyes, it evokes balmy tropical breezes from its native clime. mmm. Overall the sides probably bowle...
