Conversations from My House

Monday, May 4, 2015. While reading the responses to my last weeks post. my Australian friend referred to what we in the US call napkins as "serviettes". My Canadian cousins also call them that. Here is a picture of my favorite fruit set. I have other small bowls that are similar in size that we use to hold dipping sauce, small fruits and other side dishes. We now call them "nappies" at our house too. I hope you are enjoying a cup of tea today. Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage *. Martha at Martha's Favorites.

Monday, March 9, 2015. Bring On Spring. and more miniatures. I am so happy to be able to report this week that there is actually some melting going on outside. The sun is shining, high in the ski, and with our somewhat warmer temps, melting is slowly taking place. Don't want it to be too fast since that would cause flooding which unfortunately is ALWAYS a danger in our area. And here are two little Resin tea sets. And here is my final set for this week. It is a Woodland Setting. Meanwhile, be sure to che...

Conversations from My House: Good weather means a visit to the FleaMarket!!

http://agardenersart.blogspot.com/2015/04/last-week-was-good-weather-so-spent.html

Monday, April 20, 2015. Good weather means a visit to the FleaMarket! Last week was good weather so spent time doing yard work and generally enjoying doing things OUTDOORS. And since the weather finally cooperated, we were able to go to our favorite flea market. We filled the van with all of the goodies we found. It was such a pleasure to get back there again. Now hoping for another good Wednesday soon so we can go again. And I hope to find more plants to put in my other gardens. But. I still hav...Here ...

Monday, April 13, 2015. Some of these are from my personal collection. Some I have available out in my shop. I imagine a few of you also have some of these things, especially if you like vintage linens. To begin I wanted to share a very special "Crinoline lady" picture. It is a cross stitch project my grandmother did back in the 1920s (according to the note my mom wrote on the back of the picture.) Needless to say it is VERY SPECIAL to me. But now on to the other things I found. And this fun little wall ...

Monday, February 23, 2015. Winter is still hanging on. Since we still don't have even a hint of spring and therefore no flowers outside I though I might show these floral tea cups. I showed them several years ago and thought they would be appropriate to show you again. They are "sort of" similar in that they have numerous different flowers all around. However one is a transfer ware pattern and the other is partially hand painted. This next one is shown on the right on the tray. Remember, these may not be...

101 Days and Nights: Fair Week 2013 Part I–The Parade

http://101daysandnights.blogspot.com/2012/10/fair-week-2013-part-ithe-parade.html

101 Days and Nights. News from the North Shore of Massachusetts. Monday, October 8, 2012. Fair Week 2013 Part I–The Parade. Last Saturday, September 29th was the annual Topsfield Fair Parade. Greg and I try to get to it when we can. The sky was gray and overcast with misting but any serious rain held off. There were plenty of local fire trucks current and from the past. The pumpkin in this truck was big, but not the winner. Greg and Diane Hayden. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Greg and Diane Hayden.

101 Days and Nights. News from the North Shore of Massachusetts. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. March 11th was our or should I say Mark’s annual burn. We had an exceptionally large pile this year because of the recent tree removal. I guess it’s a guy thing but Mark really seems to enjoy this. Too bad we don’t have a fireplace. Yard work is always more fun when the toys get involved. As a side note, yes I did. Greg and Diane Hayden. Links to this post. Monday, March 19, 2012. We’ve driven by this monume...

Amanda's Adventures & Anecdotes: June 2008

http://amandachristensen.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 29, 2008. We're on vacation this week. Well, it officially started last Friday. The last day of school was Thursday, so I took Friday off and this upcoming week as well. And we're not going anywhere. I'm pretty excited about that. I didn't plan on gas prices being so high when we made the decision not to travel, but boy I sure am glad we didn't make plans now! So far this vacation, we've had a 2-day Garage Sale and we went to JazzFest to see Sergio Mendes. Monday, June 23, 2008. Alex "gradua...

Amanda's Adventures & Anecdotes: August 2008

http://amandachristensen.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 29, 2008. The Beef Babe was on our show earlier this week and clued us in on the Fair's newest treat. The Hot Beef Sundae. It's a large scoop of mashed potatoes, a generous helping of delicious pot roast, shredded cheese, a glob of sour cream and a cherry tomato on top. After having greasy cheeseburgers, fries and hot dogs all week, this was a welcome surprise. It was SOO good! I can't wait to try another one. On another note, I have to say good bye (sort of) and good luck to my friend RB.

I blog about handmade wares, recipes, Ireland, nature and my love for Christ. Birthday Queen’s Tea and Modest Monday. January 14, 2014. April 17, 2014. Last week my friend Diane and I celebrated our December birthdays by having tea at our local tea room. We had a blast! Since I don’t have official outfit photos for the Modest Monday post, I thought I’d combine these two in one post. The lovely English owner of The Tea Trolley took some photos of us, and I wore a new dress and jewelry! And here we are:.

Sunday, March 30, 2008. So what would have been regularly $72, was only $12. And speaking of deals, I also love the library. Today I got 3 books, 2 DVDs and a CD. All for free! And one of the books I borrowed was a Suze Orman book about Money. (Thanks for the idea, Amy! So maybe I'll find more ways to be frugal. I know with the cost of everything going up, I am certainly open to find new ways to save money. Friday, March 28, 2008. First of all, I need to send a little message out to ol. So I need to than...
