projectdavid: Schloss Thun
http://projectdavid.blogspot.com/2015/08/schloss-thun.html
Wednesday, August 05, 2015. We're kind of castle freaks. I mean, we can never get enough of them. We had one day left to do a family trip. Originally we had thought we might go to Lucerne, but because we hadn't managed to see Schloss Thun last week, we decided to go back yesterday. After being accosted from someone from Radio Energy and asked to greet Thun from Canada, we made our way up the stairs. It was another opportunity for me to take some pictures of the kids. And a little dress up section. We rea...

projectdavid: A low key first of August
http://projectdavid.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-low-key-first-of-august.html
Tuesday, August 04, 2015. A low key first of August. Well we had grand plans for the first of August, but as it turned out, it was quite a rainy afternoon. However, it all started quite well when we went for bread at the Brottegge and got first of august buns! And tried on hats! Then ate traditional Swiss food at the Kreuz restaurant. Then Dad left us by the side of the road and told us to fend for ourselves. And through a meadow. The kids thought it was pretty radtastic. The all over hit was the zip line.

projectdavid: In and around Lenk
http://projectdavid.blogspot.com/2015/08/in-and-around-lenk.html
Wednesday, August 05, 2015. In and around Lenk. On Monday morning, the kids and I walked up to the local second hand children's clothing store to snoop. We didn't find anything that we couldn't buy in Canada, so we continued on, back to the Lenkersee. The kids played on the swing. 36 or so years ago I played on a swing at the Lenkersee too.Last time we were here in 2008, this swing was still here. I thought I would miss it more, but the new playground really is quite cool. This is the Iffigenfalls. Then,...

projectdavid: October 2014
http://projectdavid.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. Day out with my bestie. It's very rare that I get to enjoy a day out with Natasha, even rarer that we enjoy the day out in my end of the valley. So I was very excited when she suggested that her family come out for a visit in September. But let me rewind. My brother and his wife are expecting their second child any day now. So Ada slept overnight with us to practice having sleepovers. She'll be at our house overnight when the new baby arrives. Past all the shops and restaurants,...

projectdavid: August 2015
http://projectdavid.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 05, 2015. For our last day in Lenk, we decided to go to Zermatt (hah! So no Lenk after all). We had one day left on our Swiss Rail Passes, and Dad said even though it's super touristy, Zermatt should be seen. This is what McDonalds looks like in Zermatt. We found a friendly marmot. She was much happier taking her picture with the marmot than the giant bratwurst. There are lots of carriage rides in Zermatt. But kind of beautiful too. So we posed by the giant ice cream cone. We were very ...

projectdavid: Adventures in Ticino...by which I mean Brienz?!
http://projectdavid.blogspot.com/2015/08/adventures-in-ticinoby-which-i-mean.html
Tuesday, August 04, 2015. Adventures in Ticino.by which I mean Brienz? Our final day in the Ticino and we had to be up bright and early. Our shuttle to the train station left our hotel at 820 am and we had a six hour train journey ahead of us. Brienz is beautiful - a village set right on the lake. If you've heard of Interlaken, that town likes in the middle of this lake (Brienzersee) and the Thunersee. As it is famous for it's wood carving, there are a great many wooden objects littered about the town.

projectdavid: train rides: a brief interlude
http://projectdavid.blogspot.com/2015/08/train-rides-brief-interlude.html
Monday, August 03, 2015. Train rides: a brief interlude. A friend of mine was asking me what the train rides are like here (we've sent a lot of time on trains this holiday). So here is a brief post just for you, Kandace:. First of all, I get to spend time with this beauty. And this handsome young thing (doesn't he have great hair? But then I get to go through farmland like this. And see interesting little farm houses like this one. Or hilarious stores, like this Metzgerei Wursterei von Moos! Our serious,...

projectdavid: April 2015
http://projectdavid.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 07, 2015. We saved the best for last. Easter weekend was amazing. We had so much fun spending time with family. I loved every second of our weekend, whether it was watching all the cousins chase each other around the compound; or following them around the fort while we searched for eggs and scavenger hunt clues. The feast was good too. But the icing on the cake was Monday. Look close and you'll see my little buddy on top of the Ferry Dock sign. My new lens takes really great portraits.

projectdavid: July 2015
http://projectdavid.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. It's going to take me a while to catch up - it's been a busy week. I can't believe how much we've packed in to the last two weeks (it's already two weeks since we left Langley! But at the same time, it feels like we'll be leaving far too soon. We have one more day trip planned, and then a few ideas for things to do with our last few days.all too soon this amazing trip will be done. These pictures don't do justice. The kids were FLYING down this hill. They were such sweet boys.
