I’m looking forward to taking my daughter trick or treating for the first time this year. Last Halloween, she was too little to go. Oh and let’s not forget Thanksgiving! I consider the ability to see light and color to be one of lifes most dynamic and impactful experiences. In my practice I concentrate on the balance between paint that has been tightly manipulated and paint that has been allowed to move freely. My goal is to find compositions and colors that satisfy my own aesthetic while trying to maintain an element of freshness; sometimes by leaving wide open spaces or by choosing colors that do not feel intuitive.
