August Storm, Todi. Alan Cameron is a Scottish artist whose main areas of work are the landscapes of Scotland and Italy and portraiture. His first thematic solo exhibition was in 1984 when the main strands of this work were set. Alan's work is figurative and interpretative and seeks to capture the essential ingredients of his subjects; their form, texture, colour and temperature. Pieces are produced in a variety of media and are shown in photographic illustration in the following Gallery pages.

The Gallery shows a selected range of work with approximate actual picture sizes. Pieces which are already in collections are annotated N.A. The gallery has been categorized according to subject type and gives an impression of the work. Clearly, as the result of photography and reproduction, reduction, trimming and illumination and their effect on light and colour etc, there are variations between these images and the original work. During 2011, Alan Cameron started a residency at Mellerstain House, an Adam mansion and designed landscape in the Scottish Borders, the home of the Earl and Countess of Haddington. This exquisite Georgian house and gardens and their surrounding countryside, will provide subject and material for new work, which will be complemented by a series of art classes. Approximate size 16 by 20 inches. The Glen in May. Approximate size 9 by 14 1/4 inches. Approximate size 12 1/4 by 17 1/4 inches.
