Chez Nathalie: Transitions...part l
http://nznecointeriors.blogspot.com/2010/12/transitionspart-l.html
Sunday, December 19, 2010. When I started this blog my intention was to post at least a couple of times a week. Guess that did not work out as planned. Instead, I got very busy working on a research project (something else I do). But now things are slowing down and the holidays are nearing and what do Anthony and I decided to do? Paint and build a built-in bookcase. I'm sure some people think we're nuts and at times we think we're nuts, too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Chez Nathalie: November 2010
http://nznecointeriors.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 27, 2010. On the eve of launching my website I went to see a movie. I knew the title was Force of Nature; I hadn't made the connection that it was the David Suzuki Movie (which happens to be the second part of the movie title). I was expecting to see something else. With the environmental havoc we created. The documentary did not end on that note. He also suggested we develop a practice for a sustainable future so that we can show what are species is really made of. While doing some re...

Chez Nathalie: Transitions...part lI
http://nznecointeriors.blogspot.com/2010/12/transitionspart-li.html
Wednesday, December 22, 2010. I had no idea of the amount of work required to prep one room to paint. Between the sanding, washing, and taping, it took two full days. The pics today offer images of "before"- before thoughts of painting occurred to pics of prepping. While the pics were not taken the same day they offer a sense of the room. Built-in china/linen cabinet and pocket doors with etched glass post sanding. Second half of cabinet with me in the kitchen in my sanding gear: huge sunglasses and mask.

Chez Nathalie: Emotional understanding vs Intellectual Understanding
http://nznecointeriors.blogspot.com/2010/12/emotional-understanding-vs-intellectual.html
Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Emotional understanding vs Intellectual Understanding. In my MA thesis, La toile magique. Student-artists exploring cultures, school experience and transformation. I wrote that “through the process of inquiry I gained a physical, emotional, and spiritual understanding of qualitative research methodologies… In other words it is through experience that understanding emerges” (p.59). With respect to the former group, the artists, this week I finally went to the One of a Kind Sho...
