Despite the trauma we at long last felt our battles to get appropriate support would help us all manage these bizarre cycles of behaviour that despite our best efforts as capable parents and family we were struggling to manage. The staff at the unit appeared very caring and we felt reassured that despite the distance this was the best place for James: we had no other choices anyway! Is this the best that is available for young people with behaviour for whatever reason that challenges existing systems?
