A spiritual journey to sobriety. May 1, 2015. I’ve been at this “recovery” thing since late November 2014. I’ve had strings of days of sobriety (50 was the max) along the way. A woman at work today checked in with me, she knows that depression is an issue for me, and at the end of our conversation commented, “Well, you look good. In fact, you look better than you have in a long time! Nice thing to say, right? What was it that looked bad? Or, is it something about my skin? Day 2 version 6 – God. I take it...

A spiritual journey to sobriety. April 29, 2016. That’s right, one year sober. I can’t believe that I did it. I hope you are doing well on your journey also. October 6, 2015. October 6, 2015. At the 12 Step meeting I go to, people always ask, “How did you do it? 8220;I didn’t, God did.”. So, whether yo...

A spiritual journey to sobriety. May 9, 2015. May 9, 2015. Day 13 version 6. This past week I’ve been exhausted, nap daily after work exhausted. In fact, one day I slept for two hours. I asked the hubs if this happened before and he thinks so. I vaguely remember this stage, but I clearly remember the next one, the one where I have more energy than I remember ever having. I write this in case you are at a similar spot in your recovery, so you know that you are not alone. Now, go take a nap. 🙂. Notify me ...

A spiritual journey to sobriety. August 12, 2015. August 12, 2015. Earlier this summer I made a new friend. Well, that’s a little strong, let’s change it to this: I met someone who I desperately hope will become a new friend. We were camping and I was practicing the guitar and she complimented me one starting to learn something new at my age and I jokingly replied that, “This is my mid-life crisis.”. I’m learning how to play the guitar. I’m building a business. 40 no longer looks so bad. Enter your comme...
