Sunday, October 16, 2011. There is a sign for "Dorking" on the way to church. And the house next to it says, " . Butts" and it makes me laugh every time. It's so great that they're right next to each other. My favorite part of today was sitting by Hillary in sacrament meeting. The High Councilman's talk was a little slow (but when I could focus it was really great.on tithing.) She turned to me and really quiet and serious said, "Is it okay if I tickle your back? Wednesday, March 30, 2011. I'm thankful that my cousin Ginny found these little snack boxes for me at Borders and bought them so they didn't sell before I got there. There are four boxes with goofy "pantry peepers" on the lids (pieces of food with giant eyes). My favorite is the winking croissant. I brought Wheat Thins to school in one of the smaller ones today. Friday, April 6, 2012. Spiral Jetty with Oliver Herring. Me and Camila at the Golden Spike. Wednesday, I got to go with my professor (the curator of contemporary art at BYU's MOA) Jeff Lambson,. The Jetty is an earthwork that artist Robert Smithson made on the edge of the Great Salt Lake in the early 70s. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. First Day in Europe. I'm thankful for the cute old man that took me to my connecting flight terminal in Houston. He was headed to Guatemala and made sure that I was in the right spot before he went to get lunch. We got to the Centre and unpacked. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. A day full of finals. Today I learned that 7 am finals are the WORST. No one can think clearly that early. I got the scantron in french and of course did the whole thing with pen (Seriously? I haven't been sick all semester and it finally caught up with me. I've been working on my wedding dress since March, so I don't have new projects to share. I used McCall's 5617 (who knew Hilary Duff was into sewing? A 2008 pattern which is no longer in print, but there is a similar pattern available - McCall's 6115. I made the size 10. More about the second dress at the bottom of this post.
