Picking Up the Gauntlet | a little baggage

About the Bag Lady. The Adventures of a Gal on the Go. Picking Up the Gauntlet. Asymp; 1 Comment. Last night I received a text message, “Did you ever find a bib for the race tomorrow? I might have an extra one.”. I was so psyched; the race was only a 5K and promised hot chocolate at the end. I’m in. Soon, the details began to show up on my phone with a string of beeps indicating new text messages. Beep….”Can you be at my place by 6am? Beep…”Bundle up.”. 8212;——. At 5:30am the beeps started again. In the ...

About the Bag Lady. The Adventures of a Gal on the Go. 8220;I forded a river, and lost an ox” – The Reality of the Move West. Asymp; Leave a comment. I have been referring to my move west, as my own personal Oregon Trail. My last post was written by the idyllic part of my brain, the part that likes to take over when my fingers hit the keyboard. And although all of the profundity I expressed was sincere, it’s not. In reality, I “Oregon Trailed it”. Part 1: Leaving Boston. Step 1: Preparing my provisions.

About the Bag Lady. The Adventures of a Gal on the Go. Asymp; Leave a comment. Kind of looks like I’m ready for take off…. I visited the Field Museum recently while showing my parents around Chicago, and it was rather interesting to see what each of us was drawn to. My Mom really wanted to see the Mummy, Dad was hoping he could camp in the Native American habitat room for the night, and me, I just wanted to see the animal wing. Strange that I now fly a few times a week. Strange that if my bedroom has a m...

About the Bag Lady. The Adventures of a Gal on the Go. Land of the free. Asymp; Leave a comment. Land of the Free. One benefit of being a gal on the go is that you rack up some serious miles, and as a result I can get creative with my travel. I love feeling like when a friend calls and says, “hey, I’m having a party” that I can actually consider whether I will be anywhere nearby and if I could swing through town. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect in DC, but as I packed in among an unusually hig...

A Little Baker
April 23, 2015. Orange Chia Yogurt Bread. A month has gone by since I've last posted. Winter has passed, and spring has bloomed all over the crevices of Rhode Island. It's time for me to sprout back into this world as well. I celebrated Earth Day yesterday by planting lavender and baby breath. Let's hope they are quick to peak through the soil to say hello. I also baked this orange chia seed bread and it's flavors are bright like the sun. Orange Yogurt Chia Bread. 1/4 cup olive oil. 1/4 cup non-dairy milk.
A little Bake Shop
Thursday, January 26, 2012. Baking for me is just plain fun and I started "A little Bake Shop" with fun cupcakes for a Halloween party. The theme was Vintage Halloween, like the old Frankenstein movie with all the specimen jars, etc. Well, I said to myself, "I'm doing brain cupcakes"! These brains were (and, I feel, the only way to treat a braincake) topped with a specimen label. Just to give you a little insight, one of my favorites was "Justin Pieces". Get it? Just In. Pieces. Sending you cupcake love,.
