Here starts the first of several updates I will post about my Suriname experience! We referred to those who endured hard times in the jungle as "Suriname Survivors", hence the title of this post. While there were some differences and difficulties to living in the rainforest, I loved my time in Suriname and - as much as I am loving Oaxaca - I miss living there. In this post, I will introduce you to our living conditions in Suriname, and a few of the creatures who shared those living conditions with us.

Prayer Requests for the Village. There is so much that I want to say about the past weekend in the city and what we have been up to lately, but I am going to save that for another post since we are leaving for the village in about an hour. Our stay last week went really well. We spent a lot of time just doing life with our family - this included learning an old-fashioned dance, roasting and grinding chiles to make mole. We were also able to share another Bible story and have a little conversation about it.

Suffice it to say, this post is going to be a long one since I have not updated in so long! First of all…village updates! With our family and some of their visiting relatives from Mexico City. We enjoyed getting to know and spend time with them. It turns out that they really enjoy fiestas! Starting from the church. Frank helping with the mermelada.
